Quiz the Crowd allows you to post a survey on mTurk from your smartphone and see live responses as they come in. The process takes as little as 15 minutes. The power of millions of opinions at your finger tips.

You can ask anything you like, from light hearted issues of etiquette or culture to more serious questions on politics or social justice. Either way, you get a fast view of where public opinion sits. Academics in the US use exactly the same service to do their research.

You can then post your charts on twitter, facebook, send it by email or just wave your smartphone in front of your friends.

WHO ANSWERS THE QUESTIONS?
The questions are answered by a broad demographic of people based in the USA.

We run the surveys through Amazon mTurk - an online portal where people can earn small sums of money for doing small tasks. mTurk is commonly used by US academics to conduct surveys for their research. Thats because it is efficient, offers meaningful results and is inexpensive.

We have surveyed respondents asking for their gender, ethnicity, age and income and we think they are representative of the US mean. The full demographics are available in the Settings tab in the app.

HOW FAST IS IT?
The fastest option typically takes 20-30 minutes during US waking hours. The responses appear as they come in - you just need to refresh the screen!

QUALITY FOR A SONG
Downloading the app is free and so is the public results section which has interesting questions people have recently asked.

If you want to ask a survey, we need to charge you in order to pay the workers who respond to the question. For them its a job and they are the reason why we can get you responses so much faster than other methods. If we relied on volunteers, then it would take a lot longer for you to get your data and it might not be as representative and good quality.

After paying the workers and our suppliers, we make a very small gross margin which will only cover our expenses if we achieve a very large scale. So we are charging the bare minimum we can to cover the wages of the workers behind the system.
